Hilton Tapestry | The Kelly

Originally designed by Warren, Knight and Davis, as well as being the former home to Protective Life Insurance Company’s corporate headquarters, The Kelly Hotel is an historic adaptive reuse of one of the iconic historic skyscrapers scattering the Birmingham skyline. This art-deco influenced/neo-gothic-inspired building has been transformed from former commercial office space into a boutique Hilton Tapestry hotel. Historic details such as decorative plaster ceilings, wood paneled libraries and hand-painted murals have been maintained and restored to preserve the building’s rich history, but to also provide an exciting experience for all future visitors. The ground floor lobby has been transformed back to its original design by adding new storefront window systems that invite the cityscape and morning light into its innermost spaces. The Kelly Hotel is set to open Fall 2021.
